Swelling on a particular organ such as head, hands, stomach is called local edema (Oedema), if there is swelling all over the body, it is called allasitis (anasarca).

Causes: enlargement of liver or spleen, malaria, menstrual disturbances, chronic diarrhea, etc. Sweating, urination or hangover.

Symptom: The swollen area becomes soft and upon pressing it becomes a pit that fills slowly. Thirst, dry skin, anorexia, redness in urine, difficulty in breathing, etc.

● Swelling due to heart disease, pulse slow and weak, urine little, dark colored, albumin mixed. Cold Sweat – (Digitalis 30)

● The urine either comes very little or does not come at all. The patient remains asleep in unconsciousness; All senses become relaxed – (helleborus 6 or 30)

● Inflammation after debilitating disease – (China 6)

● Swelling due to a stalled or suppressed skin disease – (Sulphur 30)

Medications may be given 2-3 times a day as needed. Salt should stop eating. Eat light and plain food.
